Canon release this new DSLR only 12 months after they release Canon 40D. We can called it new generations of Canon 40D SLR.
Looks like Canon want to catch up with new Nikon D300, which made quite a splash in the market. What make 50D different with 40D ? From the appearing, this Canon EOS 50D’s has distinguishing mark on the silver bezel for its mode dial. There are a few minor changes to how the buttons and controls are used, but for the most part the Canon 50D’s body is unchanged.

Some enhancement comes with this new Canon 50D such as : 12,800 ISO ( 40D only 3200 ISO) , four levels of High ISO Noise Reduction,  3″ higher resolution screen that is 920,000 dots,   increased the total pixel count by almost 50% ( from 10.1 million in 40D to 15.1-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor in this new 50D ).  Canon 50D also comes with this new DIGIC 4 processor, moving the extra data at a faster pace than its predecessor Canon 40D. This Canon 50D is a first Canon DSLR with an HDMI ( High Definition Multimedia Interface) port.
